Dream It Be It 2026:
Dear Parent/Guardian:
We’re excited your daughter is considering participating in Dream It, Be It: Career Support for Girls! Here are some things you should know:
The Conference will take place on April 25th from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Glendale Community College Garfield Campus, 1122 East Garfield Avenue, Glendale, CA 91205. The session is hosted by Soroptimist International of Glendale.
Dream It, Be It is a program of Soroptimist International of the Americas. Soroptimist is a global volunteer organization that provides women and girls with access to the education and training they need to achieve economic empowerment. Thousands of Soroptimists throughout North America, South America, and the Pacific Rim deliver our award-winning Dream Programs.
Designed specifically for girls in secondary school, Dream It, Be It provides participants with career support and guidance. Through education and access to role models, the program aims to empower girls (just like your daughter!) to pursue career goals and reach their full potential. In our one full-day event your daughter will learn about career opportunities, setting and achieving goals, overcoming obstacles to success, and moving forward after setbacks. Your daughter will have the opportunity to learn from volunteers who are professionals and respected women in your community who work together on projects that benefit women and girls. Volunteers will collaborate with other community members to lead girls through activities that will help them develop skills relevant to whatever career they choose to pursue.
We know that your daughter probably has a lot of responsibilities at school and at home. We believe Dream It, Be It is a worthwhile investment in her future success. Our volunteers will also make every effort to keep your daughter safe. Our volunteers must meet any legal requirements for working with children in the state of California and are prepared to give your daughter the best and safest experience possible.
We hope you’ll consider giving your daughter permission to take part in Dream It, Be It. If so, please sign the PARENT CONSENT FORM to register your daughter. There is also a voluntary MEDIA CONSENT FORM. Girls can still attend Dream It, Be It if the Media Consent Form is not signed. Registration is due no later than April 20th.
