SOROPTIMIST INTERNATIONAL OF GLENDALE welcomes passionate and dedicated volunteers who are interested in improving the lives of women and girls through programs leading to social and economic empowerment.

About Us

Who We Are

We are Soroptimist International of Glendale a local service club of a global volunteer organization of over 77,000 members worldwide founded in 1921, that provides women and girls with access to the education and training they need to achieve economic empowerment. We use our collective power to provide women and girls with the resources and opportunities they need to reach their full potential and live their dreams.

SI Glendale is within the Soroptimist International of the Americas Federation, one of five federations that make up Soroptimist International, which has clubs in more than 120 countries throughout the world. Today, our federation has about 30,000 members and supporters in countries across North America, Latin America and the Pacific Rim.

What We Do

Soroptimist is all about empowering women and girls. But what does that really mean? Women are economically empowered when they have control over their own finances and well-being, and when they have a voice in the financial decisions to shape their lives and the lives of their families. When women and girls are empowered, they have a sense of autonomy, self-confidence, and the power to control their private and public lives. We focus on access to education because we believe it’s the most effective way toward empowerment. We do this through our Dream Programs and by supporting local community organizations that focus on women and girls.

MEETING SCHEDULE:

We meet in-person the first Thursday of each month at 12:00 NOON at Oakmont Country Club. Please join us and RSVP by email to samelawoman@yahoo.com.
