Soroptimist International of Glendale

Since our charter in 1943, Soroptimist International of Glendale has donated millions of dollars to our community, supporting programs and partnerships that improve the lives of women and girls. Our members are active leaders in Glendale, helping women achieve their career goals through the Live Your Dream education and training awards, providing girls career mentoring and career exploration through the Dream It, Be It programs, introducing forums on human trafficking, and providing grants to impactful, service providers.

Our History

Soroptimist was formed in 1921 in Oakland, California. Our name, loosely translated from the Latin, means best for women. We are one of four federations that make up Soroptimist International, which has clubs in more than 122 countries throughout the world and over 75,000 members.
